The main purpose of Ladies on the Tee Golf Blog presented by Sherry Tabb is to help women embrace the game of golf in greater numbers. The mission is to develop a community of women that will share their experiences, their ideas, their successes and their overall passion for the game of golf. This blog is not age-specific nor is it meant to completely shut out any brave men who wish to participate in this blog. It is simply a place to come together and learn about all that golf has to offer.
Historically, women have been shy about getting involved in the game of golf both on a business and a personal level. That’s not to say that there aren’t a lot of women on the golf course today. It’s just that so many more could and should become involved in this great game. I’m sure part of this problem is that many women fear criticism and lack of acceptance on golf courses around the world today.
The sad part is that many women are missing out on a wonderful business networking tool, as well as, a great social and perhaps stress reducing sport. Unfortunately, the myth that golf is a man’s domain has been tossed around for decades. It’s time to put that myth to rest. Women have as much right and talent to play where and when they choose.
If women as a group can reach out and touch just one other person and introduce them to golf not only with the game of golf grow resoundingly but the businesswoman who has long been overlooked for that corporate promotion will now be ‘in the game’. The woman who needs a social outlet will discover new friends and a new passion in her life. The young girl who is unsure of herself will find a medium to build her self-confidence.
The benefits of this game are far-reaching to all who are involved. I can only hope that this blog serves a purpose greater than the game itself and that it brings a sense of involvement within each and every community to reach out to all those who have previously been overlooked or uninvited to play this sport.
My hope is that you not only benefit personally from the time you spend with us on this blog but that you also invite everyone you know to join in. See you on the tee!!
