What in the world is a ‘female friendly’ golf course??

As we try to get more and more women into the game of golf it seems prudent to discuss how women are treated at golf courses around the world and more importantly, in your own back yard.

It is well-known that golf has been dominated by men for decades. There are attitudes toward women that transcend just the players themselves. The facilities, i.e. <a href="http://www.sherrytabb.com/golf-terms-and-definitions/irreverent-golf-glossary-%e2%80%93-golf-courses/"title="Irreverent Golf Glossary - Golf Courses" target="_blank">golf courses, where women play are either part of the enlightened group of owners, managers and pros or they still exist in the dark ages. There are some very simple and easy ways to determine very quickly if the golf course where you go to play is ‘female friendly’.

Here’s a quick list which is not meant to be all-inclusive:

When you first arrive at the course do you feel welcome or do you sense that you are invisible to the staff?

Is the <a href="http://www.sherrytabb.com/golf-terms-and-definitions/irreverent-golf-glossary-going-to-the-course/"title="Irreverent Golf Glossary - Going to the Course" target="_blank">Pro Shop stocked with items of women’s golf clothing, golf equipment and golf accessories? Additionally, is the area where these items are displayed bigger than a small corner hidden towards the back?

Is there a designated Ladies Rooms inside the Clubhouse or Pro Shop? It would be hard to imagine a violation of this as that is typically a code requirement but you just never know.

Are there on-course restrooms? Women don’t have the ‘luxury’ of unzipping and relieving themselves in bushes, behind trees and who knows where else!!

Does the starter ‘warn’ you about slow play and keeping pace when he obviously overlooked giving that same warning to the previous groups of male golfers?

Does the course have <a href="http://www.sherrytabb.com/golf-terms-and-definitions/the-irreverent-golf-glossary-getting-your-round-of-golf-started/"title="Irreverent Golf Glossary-Getting Your Round of Golf Started" target="_blank">Forward Tees available with a groomed tee box, not an afterthought set up on what used to be the rough?

Is the forward tee box aligned so that it actually allows the golfer to set up in the direction of the fairway?

Is there a ball washer at the forward tees?

Do you get the ‘eye’ if you try to tee off on anything but the forward tees? Another way of checking this out is to find out if the forward tees are referred to as the Ladies Tees. The real truth is that there are a lot of men that should be playing from these tees but their egos won’t allow them so they instead slow up play on the course because their game isn’t strong enough to play further back. The chosen set of tees should be determined by the ability of the player NOT the sex!

Finally, when you get back to the clubhouse, is there a “Men’s Only” Grill but no “Women’s Only” one?

Hopefully, this gives you a base or a barometer to see if the golf course you play is worthy of your business. If not, perhaps you can work with the management or owners of the golf course to provide some suggestions to help them get into the 21st century.

You may have other criteria that you use to assess the courses where you play. Feel free to pass those along in our comments section below. I would like to compile a list of female friendly golf courses around the globe to post on this blog so feel free to give us the name and location of the golf course you feel qualifies and we’ll check it out.

There are times that every golfer feels that golf is not a ‘fair’ sport. The good news is that when it comes to golf clubs there are more than<a href="http://www.sherrytabb.com/golf-terms-and-definitions/irreverent-golf-glossary-golf-clubs/"title="Irreverent Golf Glossary - Golf Clubs" target="_blank"> irons available to strike the ball. So let’s continue describing the rest of the clubs in our bag…

Woods - these are the ‘fun’ clubs and like the Irons, have essentially <a href="http://www.sherrytabb.com/golf-terms-and-definitions/irreverent-golf-glossary-golf-clubs/"title="Irreverent Golf Glossary - Golf Clubs" target="_blank">3 parts: head, shaft and grip. In today’s world of golf, woods aren’t actually made of wood but they once were. From the days of hickory shaft clubs and the wonderful persimmon heads of days gone by we have progressed (?) to ‘woods’ made of exotic metals (like titanium) with some having heads as big as skillets, or so it seems. Here are some of the different types of woods:

Driver – ‘the big gun’, the ‘power tool’- this is the club that typically has the biggest

The Golf Driver

head (i.e. the largest area to strike the ball) and, in theory, should allow you to hit the ball the farthest. There’s that ‘theory’ thing again. There are some days that the driver never sees the light of day. The ball certainly goes farther….into the woods that is!!

Fairway woods – like irons these clubs are given a number (usually starting with 3, 5, 7, 9 and sometimes 11 and 13) that allow you to hit the ball a little shorter distance as the number goes UP. Geez! You have to be a mathematician to figure out this formula!! By the way, you may use these clubs from the tee box or any other spot on the course if you wish. They are not regulated to use on the fairways. Thank goodness! If that were the case, my woods would never get used. I would need ‘rough’ woods, ‘I’m behind a tree’ wood, ‘get me out of this sand trap’ wood etc.

Utility or Hybrid Clubs – these are typically a combination of an iron and a wood, hence the name ‘hybrid’. Utility is a good name for these as they may be used for all kinds of shots. Mine are used quite often when I am in a troublesome situation. Are you laughing at me? That is so not nice. Personally I think ANYONE can play golf from the fairway. It takes real talent to play from the trees, sand, rough, water hazard…I think you get my drift! These clubs are gaining popularity among the masses of amateurs. Thank you club makers of the world!

There is another very useful club you need to have in your bag. It is the Putter.

Golf Putter

It is neither an Iron nor a Wood. It is in a class all of its own. Without this handy dandy little club you find it much more difficult to play. This is the club that is used on the <a href="http://www.sherrytabb.com/golf-terms-and-definitions/irreverent-golf-glossary-more-course-parts-finale/"title="Irreverent Golf Glossary -More Course Parts Finale" target="_blank">Green to put (or putt) the ball into the hole. I am on the lookout for the push-button model that automatically ‘reads the green’ and putts the ball into the hole every time. Anyone know where I can find one???

This completes the set of clubs needed for your golf bag. Remember you aren’t allowed more than 14 clubs in your <a href="http://www.sherrytabb.com/golf-terms-and-definitions/irreverent-golf-glossary-golf-clubs/"title="Irreverent Golf Glossary - Golf Clubs" target="_blank">golf bag for regulation or tournament play. Trust me that’s more than enough to confuse a mere mortal. No sense adding more…especially if you are carrying your bag.

Let’s start with the basic weapon, I mean tool, you need….golf clubs.

Golf Clubs-Tools of the Trade

Golf Club – instrument that is used to strike the golf ball as it lies innocently on or near some part of the golf course. It consists of 3 basic elements: grip, shaft and head. Not sure which end to hold sometimes…. like it would make a difference!!

Set of Golf Clubs – this is a ‘package’ of clubs that is needed to get you into and out of all of the ‘trouble’ on the course from tee to green with no real adventure. A typical full set of clubs will have no more than 14 different types of clubs that are carried around in a….

Golf Bag – one of the smartest inventions ever introduced to the game of golf.

Golf Stand Bag

Not only does this bag hold your golf clubs, it has pockets inside of pockets, inside of pockets… to put your accessories (I don’t mean accessories like scarves, necklaces, pendants etc.). We’ll add all of the fun little extras later. The more pockets you have the more ‘stuff’ you manage to put in the bag and, boy, does it ever get heavy in a hurry! Hence, another very good reason to use a golf cart!!

Irons – appliances used to press out wrinkles in clothes. Oh, sorry! For the game of golf it is a ‘stick’ made of steel, graphite or some outer space metal technology that has an oddly shaped head angled in various ways to get the ball up into the air or when you least expect it – to burrow deep into the ground, i.e. ‘worm burner’. Irons are identified by their lofts (angled faces) and names.

A Couple of Golf Irons

From irons designed (key word here) to hit the ball the farthest to the shortest distance, not necessarily in a straight line:

1 Iron – rare find in today’s world. Also called a driving iron. Now seriously why would anyone try to drive with an iron (car or golf ball)??

2 Iron – also very rare unless you’re Tiger Woods or into S&M.

3 Iron – are you sensing a pattern here?

4,5,6,7,8,9 Irons – guess you are onto the clever system at this point. Note the higher the number, the higher the ball should go and the shorter distance the ball will travel. Talk about messing with your head. No wonder everybody who plays this game is crazy!!

Wedges – are specialty irons but they ran out of single digit numbers to use at this point so they have names such as: Pitching, Approach, Gap, Sand, Lob and Foot. They all have their own ‘special’ use and I’d rather let you have the thrill of experimenting with them to see what happens. My personal favorite is the ‘foot’ wedge. Guess what that is!!

Good time to stop for this session as I am sure your head is spinning and you are thinking ‘Why didn’t I take up tennis, only 1 racquet and a small area to cover”??

We last met at the greenside bunker as we trying to blast our way out of the sand. Let’s finish this hole…

•	Fringe – this is the closely-mowed area that surrounds the green also called the ‘collar’. Technically it is not considered the ‘green’ as the grass is slightly longer. Note: if you are playing in a contest like ‘win a prize for landing on the green on your first shot’ this fringe area does not count and you don’t win. Again, ask me how I know that! Not sure why it’s even there except to tease you. Tee Hee!

• Green - Nirvana! The Dance Floor! The Promised Land! This is where the real delicate elements of the game surface. This is the ending point of the hole. It started at the tee box and it ends at the green…except there is more work to do than just getting here.

On the Green

Flagstick on the Green

•	Flagstick – or ‘pin’ – just as it sounds, it is a stick with a small flag, typically white (as in surrender) but can come in many colors and designs. This flagstick sits in the…

•	Hole – just that! The hole is cut on the green by the greenskeeper/ground crew and it depends on the mood of the person cutting the hole as to where it is placed on any given day. It is a wonderful barometer of moods better than any mood ring. You hope and pray that person was in a good mood the day you are playing. In professional tournaments the hole location is almost always in the most difficult location on Sunday, the final round. Hence the term “Sunday location”. And you thought you had to be a mental giant to play this game.

•	Cup – one last term for this session. This is the plastic and aluminum insert that goes into the hole that prevents the ball from dropping into oblivion when, and if, it finally goes into the hole. The hole and cup are of uniform size per the rules of the game. There is no apparent reason as to why the diameter of the hole is what it is other than that was the size of the first hole-cutting tool used in Scotland. Go Figure!

Now, we are finished with your ‘crash’ course for terminology that pertains to the <a href="http://www.sherrytabb.com/golf-terms-and-definitions/irreverent-golf-glossary-%E2%80%93-golf-courses/"title="Irreverent Golf Glossary - Golf Courses" target="_blank">golf course. I may have missed some parts of the course from tee to green but they can’t be too important if I didn’t mention them. Right???

Just wait until we tackle etiquette, rules etc. etc. You ain’t seen nothing yet! If you have any terms of your own you wish to add please add them in the comments section below…and don’t forget to subscribe to the comments so you are ‘in the know’ as we grow!

Let us continue on our journey around the course…

•	Out of bounds – this is an area (usually somebody’s backyard) where you’re not supposed to hit your ball. If you see white stakes on the golf course that means that any ball that lies beyond those stakes is considered to be unplayable and you are assessed a penalty stroke. How rude! If someone chooses to live on a golf course then they should expect all that comes with it…like hackers, errr, I mean golfers tearing up their yard while trying to play their shot that landed in the backyard landscape. In fact, it would be nice to offer the golfer a beverage whilst they are on the property. Just a thought!

•	Somebody’s backyard - see the aforementioned term

Golf Ball in the Water Hazard

•	Hazard areas – the golf architect’s idea of a cruel joke. Hazards come in different forms, i.e. water and sand (a.ka. <a href="http://www.sherrytabb.com/golf-terms-and-definitions/irreverent-golf-glossary-more-course-parts/"title="Irreverent Golf Glossary -More Course Parts" target="_blank">bunkers, sand traps). I have already mentioned that they are strategically placed so that your ball finds its way into them as often as possible. On a hot day the water hazards are even more inviting so pack your scuba gear. You’d be amazed at what lies beneath those murky waters!!

•	Drop area – this is a marked area on the course where you are allowed to go to play the next shot after your ball has found its way into the ‘drink’. It’s kind of like a ‘time-out’ area for golfers. When you are hitting from a drop area EVERYONE knows you did a ‘bad’ thing…you let your ball get wet.

•	Ground under repair – an area that is marked on the course around ground that obviously has been damaged or recently repaired but not yet deemed playable. You are provided relief from hitting your ball in one of these specially marked areas without penalty. How nice! By the time I am finished with a round of golf the whole course should be deemed ‘under repair’!! I have re-sodded my yard multiple times with the chunks I take when I swing….not really….err, at least, not all of the time!

•	Green side bunker – remember the <a href="http://www.sherrytabb.com/golf-terms-and-definitions/irreverent-golf-glossary-more-course-parts/"title="Irreverent Golf Glossary -More Course Parts" target="_blank">fairway bunker? This is the same sandy pit nonsense except that it sits close to the green not the fairway. I love these bunkers.

Greenside Bunker

I can splash sand onto the green like the best of golfers. I just typically have to do it 3 or 4 times before I actually get the ball of the bunker and onto the green. Where’s my pina colada?? What kind of beach is this anyway??

Here’s a good place to stop for a while. It can be exhausting getting out of the bunker. So catch your breath and come back to Ladies on the Tee Golf Blog at <a href="http://www.sherrytabb.com"title="Ladies on the Tee Golf Blog" target="_blank">www.sherrytabb.com for the last segment of terms for ‘parts of the course’.

Welcome back to the Irreverent Golf Glossary. You have mastered the art of driving the <a href="http://www.sherrytabb.com/golf-terms-and-definitions/the-irreverent-golf-glossary-getting-your-round-of-golf-started/"title="Irreverent Golf Glossary - Parts of the Course" target="_blank">golf cart and have made it to the <a href="http://www.sherrytabb.com/golf-terms-and-definitions/the-irreverent-golf-glossary-getting-your-round-of-golf-started/"title="Irreverent Golf Glossary - Parts of the Course" target="_blank">tee box. Now let the game begin!!

•	Fairway – this is where your golf ball is supposed to land on your first shot (stroke) from the tee box unless you are on a Par 3 hole (more on that later).

In the Short Hairs!

The grass is well manicured here (i.e. the short hairs) and should make for an easier second shot. Of course, that is the theoretical approach to golf. The reality is that fairways never seem to be lined up properly from the tee box and are quite elusive even if you are accomplished enough to play professionally. My approach to this is that anyone could play well from the fairway. The real challenge is playing out of the rough, the trees, the bunkers…..oh, sorry! I am getting ahead of myself.

•	First cut of rough – this is a teaser area. It’s not the fairway but lies adjacent to it and the grass isn’t as short as in the fairway. The bummer is that if you are playing a contest hole (eg. long drive shot) and your ball comes to rest in this area – only mere inches away from the fairway- it does not count. Ask me how I know this!!

•	Rough – this is where the real fun begins! This area has longer grass than the previously mentioned areas. In some cases it is so long, your ball disappears from sight. If you are lucky enough to find it you may as well have a machete to hack your way out. The good news is that most courses keep the rough to a manageable length so that you can find your ball but getting it out may still require a magician. I guess this why you need to try to hit the fairway. Hmmm!

•	Fairway bunker – a.k.a. Sand Trap – an area filled with sand usually placed right where your ball should land if it just misses the fairway.

Golf ball in the Beach!

Sometimes it is called the ‘Beach’. I personally love the beach so it seems my golf ball is attracted to this area. However, without the thong, suntan lotion and sounds of the waves crashing in it isn’t as pleasant a place to be.

•	Forest - a.k.a. ‘in the trees’. Some courses have more trees than others and even though the experts say that trees are 90% air, it is amazing how your little tiny golf ball can find the 10% that is tree!! Trees are all over the place and if you play your shot correctly you can use the tree to deflect a wayward shot back into the Fairway…or not!!! Can anyone say ‘pinball’??

Well, there is much more to experience on our way to the end of this round of golf. Come back and explore the rest. If you have any experiences or nicknames for these terms, feel free to add your comments below.

Now that you are <a href="http://www.sherrytabb.com/golf-terms-and-definitions/irreverent-golf-glossary-going-to-the-course/"title="Irreverent Golf Glossary - Going to the Course" target="_blank">checked in, warmed up, stretched out and ready to go you get in your golf cart (walking is for able-bodied extremists) and head to the starting point for your round if golf.

•	Front side -The typical course is broken into 2 segments: the front nine and the back nine. The front side includes holes 1-9. No rocket science here. The only difficulty is remembering where you were told to start by the always polite pro shop personnel , front side or back. You have a 50/50 chance of getting it right. Pretty good odds in my book.

•	Back side – the opposite of the front side. Duh!! This is where holes 10-18 are found. If you happen to be playing a 27-hole course, none of this matters. There is no middle side. You’ll be instructed to go start on the ‘xyz’ course, as these types of golf courses come up with some very clever names for each set of nine holes. (e.g, red, white and blue courses; or east, west and south courses-where if you are directionally challenged you may never find your way to your starting point!!) Just kidding.

•	Cart path - ideally this is where you drive your golf cart while on the course. Some courses don’t have these paved or graveled tracks to drive on so helter-skelter driving is the norm. The unfortunate part about cart paths is that most of us never hit our golf shots anywhere near the cart path. If the course you are on has a ‘cart path only’ rule (menaing your cart should never leave the path), you are going to feel like you are walking the course. Weren’t you trying not to do that in the first place?? There are rules/etiquette about where to drive the cart and where not to drive. We will cover this topic in our Golf Etiquette section later on. Oh joy!!

•	Tee Box – this is the starting point for each hole on the course. You will find markers placed on these areas that tell you where you may stand to hit your first shot for that hole. To make things ‘fun’ there is more than one tee box at each hole. The ones furthest back are for the best golfers…or the he-men who think they should be playing on tour but can barely hit their first shot past the closest tee box to the hole. (That’s a whole other topic of conversation.) In general, you should play from the tee box that allows you to be challenged but not decimated by the length of the course from that set of tees. The rules provide that you are to start and finish playing from the same set of tees. The reality is if you are out for fun and want to change it up you can but don’t plan on using or counting that score for anything important! By the way…the forward set of tees is just that -FORWARD TEES. They are not to be classified as the LADIES TEES. I have seen enough men playing to know that many of them are better suited to use these forward tees than anything further back.

That’s enough for now. I am too tired of ranting to try to hit a shot to start this round of golf. We’ll pick up where we left off next time.

Please remember this is neither an all-inclusive nor a completely accurate golf glossary. It’s just golf as I see it. Your thoughts are always welcome at Ladies on the Tee Golf Blog at <a href="http://www.sherrytabb.com"title="Ladies on the Tee Golf Blog" target="_blank">www.sherrytabb.com.

Continuing with some of the most common golf terms for our Irreverent Golf Glossary, let’s define your journey to the various parts of the <a href="http://www.sherrytabb.com/golf-terms-and-definitions/irreverent-golf-glossary-%E2%80%93-golf-courses/"title="Irreverent Golf Glossary - Golf Courses" target="_self">golf course.

•	Bag Drop — this is where you unload your golf clubs to prevent you from having to haul your clubs all the way through the parking lot and depleting the energy base you will need to get through your round. The bag drop area is usually very close to the clubhouse but even so it is not advisable to leave your other bag (i.e. your purse) in this area.

•	Clubhouse – this is the official starting and ending area for your round of golf. The essentials of food, drink, bathrooms and shopping areas are housed here.

•	Pro Shop – this is where you go inside the clubhouse to check in, pay for your round of golf and search frantically for the one small corner that displays the women’s golf clothing and equipment. Be careful that you don’t miss your tee time looking for this area.

•	Driving range — for those of us that are a little stiff around the edges, this area is a must to visit. This is where you work the kinks out and get nice and loose before heading to the first tee. Unfortunately, this is where you also leave most of your good shots. So be careful how much time you spend here. Hit a few balls, scope out the other golfers and maybe even stretch a little bit. There’s nothing worse than pulling a muscle on the first swing of the day.

• Practice green – this is another area that could be deemed important to visit prior to playing. This is

Practice Green

where you go to practice your putting without the clown faces and windmills found at your <a href="http://www.sherrytabb.com/golf-terms-and-definitions/irreverent-golf-glossary-%E2%80%93-golf-courses/"title="Irreverent Golf Glossary - Golf Courses" target="_self">local miniature golf course. The funny thing is that most people seem to do better at those miniature golf courses. Oh well, it is a good idea practice a few putts to get comfortable with your stroke because you know what the golf wizards say… “drive for show and putt for dough”! We’ll try to figure that axiom out another time.

The good news is you are now ready to head to the starting point for your round of golf. Stay tuned for the next chapter of Ladies on the Tee Golf Blog where we’ll walk you around the course.

Now that we’ve defined the <a href="http://www.sherrytabb.com/golf-terms-and-definitions/the-irreverent-golf-glossary-part-1/"title="Irreverent Golf Glossary -Game of Golf" target="_self">game of golf, let’s talk about the different types of golf courses that are available in almost every community.

Golf Courses – plots of land where people go to play the <a href="http://www.sherrytabb.com/golf-terms-and-definitions/the-irreverent-golf-glossary-part-1/"title="Irreverent Golf Glossary -Game of Golf" target="_self">game of golf. There are different types of golf courses in different lengths, shapes and difficulties. I would have to say that not every golf course can be considered friendly. However, they certainly are “slices of heaven” in that they are escapes from the doldrums and stresses of every day life.

Playing Miniature Golf

•	Putt-Putt a.k.a Miniature Golf - a great training ground for newbies and a great ‘dating’ destination. The golf purists would not dare include this in their glossary. But the fact of the matter is, if you can navigate the windmills, the clown faces, the raging volcanoes, the tunnels over and under the water hazards and all the twists and turns that you will face while playing miniature golf, a real golf course will be a breeze. Not really, but they are fun places to try your hand at putting (a term we will define later) or go out on ‘let me show you how talented I am’ date.

•	Par-3 course – shorter than average golf course that you think would be easier to play than the longer course. Okay, that’s totally wrong. On this type of course, you typically will have only nine holes to play and on most of these holes it should only take you three strokes to get the ball from the tee box to the cup. Hence the ‘par 3′ name. How clever is that? The only problem is, if you can actually get the ball in the hole in three shots or less on a regular basis you really shouldn’t be playing this course. You are way too good! You need to move on up to the next big adventure.

• Executive Golf Course – so as not to confuse you, you don’t have to be an executive to play on this type of course. It’s kind of a hybrid golf course, longer than the par three course, but shorter than a regulation course. Guess back in the day when ‘executives’ only had a short period of time to play this is where they would go. There aren’t as many of these type courses around as you might think but they are a very good place to go as a step up from the par three course. Do executives now have more time on their hands??? Most of the time an executive course will have 18 holes (which is the normal number of holes for a round of golf) and they are typically longer in distance and therefore, more challenging. Translation…a lot more opportunities for trouble, I mean, scenic.

•	Regulation Golf Course – is where the ‘real’ golf is played. There are literally thousands of golf courses all over the world that are considered to be regulation courses. These are18-hole courses and this is where the real fun begins! These are the beauties that you see on TV and in your local area…from hallowed grounds to mountain goat tracts. There are a lot of components to the golf course and in my next article I will start defining all of those parts.

Stay tuned for the next edition of Ladies on the Tee Golf Blog presented by Sherry Tabb. If you’d like to offer your own definition of any of the terms included in our irreverent golf glossary, please add your comments below.

In the next few articles I will be defining some very common golf terms, in no particular order (as they say on ‘Dancing with the Stars’) from a totally personal perspective. If there is some golf terminology not covered in these posts, please let me know and I’ll do my best to define it for you.

Please realize that my interpretations may not adhere to the strict definitions found in most golf books.

Here we go:

GOLF – a game that causes one to lose one’s sanity quickly. It involves chasing a little white (pink, blue or yellow) ball around a well manicured plot of land (i.e. golf course) trying to get the ball from Point A (tee box) to Point B (very small hole cut on the green) in a specified number of shots… or less…or more. Players use sticks (i.e. golf clubs) to move the ball from one point to the next hoping to do so in a reasonably straight line with as few shots (i.e. strokes) as possible.

Who’s kidding who here? It is a fact that all golf balls have minds of their own so no matter where YOU are aiming, the BALL always seem to take a more ‘scenic’ route!! My personal mantra is “Every swing is a new adventure.”

Oh sorry…I digress.

The game originated somewhere a long time ago. Perhaps it was with the cave men. They used clubs back then didn’t they? Isn’t there a primal urge to swing at things with clubs that lends itself beautifully to the mechanics of the game of golf? Of course, fingers have been pointed at the Chinese, the Romans, the French, the English and, of course, to the Scots as well for proliferating this obsessively frustrating yet exhilarating game.

No one is for sure when and where the game of golf started but the fact that it is one of the most popular recreational sports speaks volumes for its magical appeal. It is a game that you either love or hate…or both, at the same time. It is capable of giving you one of the ‘highest highs’ or ‘lowest lows’ but amazingly it can give you that one good shot to keep you coming back. How crazy is that??

Enough for the history and background of the game… Don’t let this diatribe fool you into thinking I am not crazy about the game of golf. It is a love affair that can begin at any age and last a lifetime. How many relationships can you say that about??
