Home at last! After spending three weeks in Florida, I finally drove all the way back to my hometown, Middletown, OH. My little Yorkie dog, “Moose” sure missed me a lot and it was nice to sleep in my own bed again. Seriously…like really nice…I slept for 13 hours straight last night! Long week??
I had a blast last week in Daytona Beach. I made another cut! The winds and rain came through AGAIN this week and I ended up shooting 74-74-74. Hey..I hear consistency is key! I tied for 30th and made a whopping $787 dollars. If it were up to me I’d buy the new Manolo Blahniks pink shoes with black feathers, buuuut unfortunately… I’m going to have to use the money to pay for the speeding ticket I made in California ($250! OUCH!).
After making the first two cuts, I’m officially 38th on the money list. Good position! I only have 29 girls to beat down before I get that LPGA card! But I’m not even thinking about it….really!…I’m not!….It’s a long season and my daddy caddy and I are just taking it one birdie at a time.
I wanted to set a goal to make the most birdies on tour this year. So far I’ve had 17! My coach Ron Stockton told me, “go out there and be a birdie machine! And the rest will take care of itself.” His dad is Dave Stockton and we have a little side bet going on who’s going to make the most. The guy has had 27 hole-in-ones! Wish me luck, I made need it.
During the first event I already said that I hit the ball like a champ, and struggled with my putting. WELL, this week I decided to change it up! My dad made some fantastic changes to my putting. It was not easy though! We ran through drills over and over and over again as he kept adjusting my grip, stance, elbows, and backswing. Phhhewwww, who knew it was so off! But boy did it pay off! THANKS DAD! You could have mistaken me for Loren Roberts this week because I was, ‘the boss of the moss!”.
Thank Goodness! Because I hit like a weekend hack! Boo. This game is mean. I was just barely off though and I’m going to hit the range this week and do some drills that Ron and Dave gave me before I left on tour. Whenever I play bad, in the back of my mind I always think, “I may never hit the ball well ever again! Oh man well, I had a good run…” HAHA I know this is ridiculous, but this game sure can play weird mind games on you. So I’m focusing on the positive and I know when BOTH my putting and hitting come together, it’s going to be a beautiful thing. Maybe it will happen next week in Lafayette, Louisiana!
By the way! I just switched gloves to Sassygloves! They are super cute and I recommend them to fancy girls on the tee
Okay sports fans, I’m going to hit the gym. I’m off to Middletown’s Towne Athletic Club, I’ve got to work off those Mc Donald’s Ice Cream cones I had on the ride back to Ohio! Yummy, oh so worth it!
